When it comes to traditional mother daughter activities, most people tend to associate the term with shopping, exercising, home decorating, cooking or baking and the traditional spa visits. However, the trend of mother daughter plastic surgery seems to be gaining more and more momentum each year, with the past year alone seeing 34% more moms and daughters electing to have an extensive range of cosmetic treatments performed at the same time.
A Form of Moral Support
In many cases, a mother or a daughter may be tempted to opt for a surgery, but feeling somewhat apprehensive about “going it alone.” Other times, a mother or daughter may have initially had a procedure performed and upon seeing how good it made her look, the other party may have decided to have the same procedure performed. As with trying out anything new, it is always less overwhelming and more pleasant when a new experience can be shared with someone that is close to you. If a mother and daughter have procedures performed together by a plastic surgeon, it enables them to give each other a unique and much-needed level of support on the road to recovery too.
Most Common Mother Daughter Procedures
These days, a plastic surgeon can perform numerous procedures as part of a mother daughter treatment package. At present, some of the more popular options include Botox filler injections, dermabrasion treatments, Restylane, rhinoplasty (nose enhancement surgery), breast lifts, breast enhancements or implants, liposuction, neck lifts, face lifts and tummy tuck surgeries. However, in most cases, just about any procedure can be performed as part of a mother daughter bonding experience. In some cases though, mothers may have one form of surgery performed, while their daughters may decide to opt for having an entirely different cosmetic surgery procedure performed.
Reality TV Shows May Play a Part
TV shows like Big Rich Texas could be showing loyal viewers that this is an acceptable practice to engage in. “We see a lot of moms and daughters, as well as other family members and partners, very, very often. Seeing it on TV only strengthens that, but I think the desire has always been there. I love it. The patients who start with a supportive relationship, they really help each other and I welcome that,” one surgeon was quoted as saying in a newspaper article that was published by the Daily Mail in 2012.
Before having any form of cosmetic surgery performed, it is essential for mothers and daughters to schedule a consultation with a reputable plastic surgeon that also has experience performing the procedures that they would like to have done. This will not only ensure that they are both completely satisfied with the end results; it will ensure that the risk of complications occurring during the surgery are kept to an absolute minimum as well.
