Although the development of fine lines and wrinkles is usually associated with those over the age of 50, the latest trend is now seeing more women in their 20s and 30s that are taking the bull by the horns and having Botox treatments before they even see their first wrinkles forming.
Why Botox Injections are Becoming More Popular
More and more younger women are becoming concerned about their appearance than ever before. Having Botox treatments not only reduces the appearance of fine lines, frown lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet; it is actually able to prevent these unsightly lines from even appearing in the first place. One woman who had a Botox treatment stated that a particular facial expression she used while growing up led to the development of an unsightly frown line on her forehead. She noticed a remarkable difference in her appearance after having the injections.
Prevention is Usually Better than Cure
When questioned why they would want to use Botox treatments from as young as the age of 19, most women cited the fact that they would like to prevent the wrinkles from forming. They reasoned that this would be a better option than waiting for them to form and then trying to treat them after they have made an appearance. Greg De Lange, who is a plastic surgeon, stated that he is seeing more and more patients who are in their 20s and 30s than ever before.
Using a Reputable Plastic Surgeon
Dr. De Lange has advised that while Botox injections usually do not pose any health threats or cause patients to experience unpleasant or risky side effects, it is still crucial for the patient to ensure that she uses a surgeon who is suitably experienced. One of the best ways to locate a reputable surgeon is to seek referrals from those who have already had Botox treatments. If a surgeon is promising unrealistic results, it may be a wise decision to use a different physician.
How long do Botox Injections Last?
While many women are under the impression that Botox treatments work instantly, this is not always the case. In most instances, it takes between 3 and 7 days for the full effects of a Botox treatment to show up properly. Once a patient has had a Botox injection, the results can be expected to last anywhere up to 6 months. However, in some cases, it is possible for them to last a little longer. The injections are usually also quick to administer, and in most cases, the patient is able to return to their regular routine the following day.
Botox treatments are relatively affordable, costing approximately $300 per area of the face that requires treatment. Although this may seem like a high price to pay for a somewhat temporary treatment, many women in their 20s and 30s are more than willing to foot the bill in order to ensure that they remain wrinkle-free for as long as possible.
