We are excited to announce that facial plastic surgeon Dr. Jacob Tower will be joining The Spiegel Center beginning April 3, 2023.
Dr. Jacob Tower brings his impeccable credentials, impressive surgical training, and meticulous care to further expand our world-class aesthetic services.
After completing a challenging course of study in Neuroscience, Dr. Tower graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Tower then went directly to medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, one of the most selective medical schools in the world, where he was the recipient of the William F. and Erma Borchers Scholars Award.
Following medical school, Dr. Tower continued his training with five years of study in Head and Neck Surgery at Yale University, in New Haven, Connecticut. During that time he studied and did research with Dr. Neil Gordon, one of the world’s most celebrated facelift surgeons and a pioneer in advanced extended deep plane facelift techniques. Dr. Tower’s research advanced facelift surgery by better characterizing the structural changes associated with facial aging and innovating best treatment strategies. He brings this in-depth knowledge to every facelift he performs. (Deep plane facelift is considered the most advanced technique for rejuvenation of the aging face. There are a host of different facelift techniques including extended deep plane facelift, deep plane facelift, composite facelift, SMAS plication facelift, “mini” facelift, and others. Dr. Tower will be performing each of these procedures at The Spiegel Center.)
After residency, Dr. Tower was chosen for an American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship in New York City. While there he trained with experts in facial plastic surgery, eyelid surgery, cranial skeletal surgery, and rhinoplasty, including Dr. Steven Pearlman, past president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Tower’s expertise in rhinoplasty includes shaping the nose for a beautiful and balanced appearance, in addition to restoring the best function for easier breathing. He regularly optimizes the nasal septum and nasal valves as part of the nose surgery he does. Additionally, Dr. Tower performs endoscopic nasal surgery where a fiber optic camera is used to look deep into the nose to identify any areas that may be interfering with breathing. Dr. Tower merges aesthetics with enhanced function in all of his nose surgery.
Dr. Tower’s expertise includes facelift and nose surgery, but also the treatment of facial asymmetries, facial nerve injuries, cranial skeletal issues, eyelid surgery, and otoplasty (ear shaping). He has been actively caring for patients with scars, moles, birthmarks, fatty necks, prominent ears, and sagging eyelids (upper and lower). Services by Dr. Tower can be performed in our Newton Surgery QuadA (AAAASF) certified surgery center, or comfortably in the office.
Dr. Tower has a thoughtful approach and an artistic eye for his work, coupled with a deep understanding of the science of plastic surgery. Following a successful time in practice at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts he joins The Spiegel Center while also serving as an assistant professor at the Boston University School of Medicine and a sought-after expert lecturer in facial plastic surgery at conferences across the country.
Dr. Tower lives with his wife and young son in Boston. He enjoys running along the Charles River, skiing with family and friends, and spending his time boating on the waters of southern New England.
