These days, most women from their early 30’s and older are doing everything possible to retain a healthy and youthful appearance. As a result, many companies are in the process of developing a range of products that cater to this specific need. A biotech company based in Vancouver has developed their latest anti aging secret after receiving inspiration from a rather unusual source – arctic fish that spend their days in a freezing climate.

Naturally-Occurring Glycoproteins may be the Answer

Sirona Biochem has been busy developing a natural compound based on the antifreeze glycoproteins that occur naturally in fish found in the Antarctic region. When it was discovered that these compounds are able to protect the fish’s cells against the harsh Antarctic climate, the company realized that this compound may be the perfect solution to help promote longevity in humans. The result is a compound that has the ability to protect cells. It also extends the life of existing cells, which ensures that those who use this product will look younger for longer.

Recent Studies Seem Quite Promising

Belenkie went on to explain that approximately 80% of visual aging occurs as a result of cell death. He also stated that their latest compound would be able to help prevent cell damage and extend the life of the cells at the same time. The most recent study done by Sirona Biochem showed that their latest compound was able to keep 95% of the protected skin cells alive for a period of seven days, whereas only 8% of skin cells in the unprotected control group were still alive after the same time frame.

No Physical Fish Used in the Product

While the anti aging compound has been developed along the principles of the glycoprotein found in the arctic fish, no actual cells or products are used from the fish themselves in the making of the synthesized compound. The compound developed by Sirona Biochem is in fact more stable and user-friendly than their naturally-occurring counterparts. This ensures that when it is finally used in skin products, it will have a decent shelf life while also being deemed perfectly safe for human use.

An added advantage of this compound is that it is also able to protect the wearer’s skin from the harmful effects of UV exposure. Once skin care products containing this miracle anti-aging compound are made available for sale, they will take the cosmetic world by storm.
