What is CareCredit?

CareCredit is a personal line of credit for healthcare treatments and procedures for your entire family, including your pets. It works like a credit card but it has two advantages. It can only be used for healthcare services and you can get No Interest* financing every time you use it. Simply pay your minimum monthly payment and pay off the entire balance by the end of your promotional period and you pay No Interest. You can get a No Interest* payment plan if paid in full within 6 or 12 months on purchases with your CareCredit card. Interest will be charged to your account from the purchase date if the promotional balance, including optional charges, is not paid in full within 6 or 12 months or if you make a late payment. Minimum monthly payments are required. If a longer payment plan is beneficial to you, CareCredit also extends longer term financing for 24 or 36 month periods with reduced APR and fixed monthly payments required until paid in full. Purchases of $2,500 or more may be eligible for a 24 months offer at 17.9% APR, or a 36 months offer with 18.9% APR. Questions on CareCredit? Our team is happy to help walk you through your financing journey.

Where can I use CareCredit?

Your CareCredit card can be used at over 125,000 participating healthcare practices nationwide for services including LASIK, Veterinary, Dentistry, Cosmetic Treatments, Cosmetic Surgery, Hearing Care and more. Once you have CareCredit you can use it over and over without reapplying for you, your family, and even your pets!

How is CareCredit different from my Visa or my MasterCard?

Save your consumer credit cards for household or unplanned expenses! Unlike your Visa or MasterCard, CareCredit is exclusive for healthcare services and you can get No Interest* financing every time you use it. If you need more time to pay for your procedure, you can take advantage of our extended payment plans with low, fixed interest rates.

I'm not sure I want another credit card. Why do I want CareCredit?

CareCredit is designed specifically for your healthcare needs and wants, but once you’ve applied you can use it repeatedly for anyone in the family including your pets. Because it is not meant for all consumer purchases you can manage your out-of-pocket medical costs more efficiently while enjoying No Interest* financing (for at least 6 months and perhaps more depending on plan) each time you use it. In addition there are no up-front costs, no pre-payment penalties, and no annual fees.

What is a CareCredit payment plan?

CareCredit offers a full range of payment plans. Our 6 and 12 month No Interest* payment plans feature monthly payments as low as 3.5% of the balance and let you pay within the specified time without incurring interest charges. Simply make your minimum monthly payment and pay off your entire balance during the agreed upon time period, and you’ll pay no interest. Interest will be charged to your account from the purchase date if the promotional balance, including optional charges, is not paid in full within 6 or 12 months or if you make a late payment. Minimum monthly payments are required.

Using Your Insurance at The Spiegel Center

Woman speaking in a video about medical insurance

Aesthetic procedures are life changing and empowering, and they can be costly. The good news is that at The Spiegel Center we work with all insurance companies. All we will need is a letter that says that your insurance company will cover your surgery with a letter called a single case agreement.

So how do you get one of these single case agreements? That really depends on your insurance company. For example, Harvard Pilgrim will require two referral letters: a letter from your PCP and a letter of medical necessity. Once we have these two letters we can proceed. We will develop a treatment plan with you that will be submitted to Harvard Pilgrim along with your two doctor letters. As soon as authorization is obtained, we will work together to pick you a date for surgery.

Different insurances work differently, and in some cases, you will need to submit CPT codes that are specific to your case which we will provide you with following your consultation with the doctor. We recommend that you develop a relationship with your case manager and notify them about any uncovered procedures, co-insurance, or deductibles to help them advocate for your coverage.

Once we receive your single-case agreement, we can schedule your surgery. The single-case agreement can take some time. You have options, and you may choose to pay out of pocket and submit your bills to your health insurance for reimbursement. Here at The Spiegel Center, we have worked with a lot of insurance companies over the years and we are here to help. You can follow The Spiegel Center on all major social media platforms, or give us a call at 617-351-9505
