An Alternative To Surgery

As we age, our facial skin begins to sag. You may notice bags and dark circles under the eyes, drooping neck skin, and a loss of volume in the cheeks. Some people undergo a facelift to tighten their skin and restore their youthfulness. However, the idea of an invasive procedure like a facelift may not be appealing to everyone.

For those who desire a perfectly contoured face without going under the knife and dealing with unavailable downtime, we have just the solution for you: a liquid facelift. This is a minimally invasive non-surgical procedure that is designed to lift your face, restore its contours, and add volume back to your face.

What Is A Liquid Facelift?

A liquid facelift uses dermal fillers like Belotera®, Juvederm®, Revance RHA®, Restylane®, and Prollenium Versa® to ease away wrinkles, restore contours, and fill in hollow regions. The dermal fillers listed above are made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the human body. This means that these dermal fillers are unlikely to be rejected by the body and are quite safe. 

Radiesse® and Sculptra® are biostimulatory fillers that increase collagen production for areas like the temples, cheeks, jaw, and chin.  A liquid facelift elevates the skin and makes a person look more energetic and youthful. Even under-eye bags and dark circles can be addressed using liquid fillers. Some choose to use a liquid facelift to enhance select facial features, while others use it to completely rejuvenate their faces.

How Is The Liquid Facelift Performed?

Because the liquid facelift is a minimally invasive non-surgical procedure, it involves no scalpels, incisions, or stitches. At the start of the procedure, the areas to be treated can be benumbed with a topical anesthetic.

The dermal fillers are then injected just beneath the skin in key areas to add volume to sunken areas and smooth away wrinkles and folds on the face. The improved facial volume lifts your face and makes you look refreshed and years younger.

How Should I Prepare For A Liquid Facelift?

Refrain from using painkillers such as aspirin and ibuprofen in the time leading up to your liquid facelift. Also, avoid excessively eating fish or taking fish oil pills because these are blood thinners and may cause bruising to last longer. If you happen to be taking beta blockers or any blood-pressure medications, consult your physician to see whether the dosages of any of these medicines need to be altered. We recommend taking arnica a day or so before your treatment and to avoid strenuous activity, including yoga, following your treatment to minimize bruising.

What Should I Expect?

Because the liquid facelift is non-surgical, most patients do not need to take time off from work. The procedure is quite quick, as is the recovery. Immediately after the liquid facelift, you are likely to notice some slight swelling and bruising around the areas that have been treated. To bring the swelling and bruising down, apply ice packs to the area as directed.

Full results are visible in around 14 days once the swelling has disappeared and the filler has settled. Typically, your results will be visible for 1 to 2 years. We suggest that you come in for follow-up injections at 4-8 month intervals to maintain the results of the liquid facelift.
