There’s a humorous old anecdote about travel where a person who stops and asks directions in a small town is told, “Oh, you can’t get there from here!” Of course, we all know you can get to any place from any starting point as long as you know the way. The misspoken helper intends to say that it will not be easy to get to your destination.
But, you can get to your destination if you want to. Just as surely as the person lost in that small town wants to get out of there to reach her destination, so too many of us find ourselves somewhere while truly seeking to be elsewhere.
