The unemployment rate in today’s country is really taking a toll on a specific demographic of people that are hunting and looking for work on a regular basis. Older men are in serious competition with younger professionals willing to work for less just to get a job. More and more older men are starting to turn towards Botox injections and treatments in order to standout against their youthful competition a bit more. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery from 2008 to 2009 mens cosmetic procedures increased by 9% and out of that figure 14% were Botox treatments.
Older men who have been hunting for work in this recent economic crisis have had to go to extraordinary measures to compete with the younger audience. Many seem to feel that if they don’t they simply will have a harder time finding work. As more and more companies hire younger employment the older crowd has to work that much harder to find new employment. Should a younger more youthful looking face get the job over a much more qualified older person? Of course not but the reality is that it is happening more and more out there and the older generation of unemployed works are starting to really feel the effects from this growing trend. I would not be surprised if that figure of 14% increased over the next 12-24 months.
