Painting of Mona Lisa

Suppose you wanted a painting.  How much should you expect to pay and how will you find out this information?

You could go into a gallery and ask the well dressed person how much do paintings cost.  Or, you could go online and ask Google how much is a painting. Either way, you’re not going to get a straight answer.  That’s because some paintings cost very little, and some cost hundreds of millions of dollars. You can get your portrait done as an original oil painting for $199 at http://www.paintyourlife.com, and in 2017 a Leonardo DaVinci portrait of an old Italian man sold for $450 million.

Surely what makes the most sense is to figure out how much paint is used, and then pay for the painting based upon the amount of materials, right?  Somehow that’s not what happens.

But, they’re both paintings.  Why the discrepancy?

Obviously, some artists are more talented than others.  They’re work is more beautiful, more innovative, more expressive, and more significant.   They are widely recognized as being important artists and their work is valued accordingly.  The value of the work is not based upon the amount of paint used, but upon the artistry and outcome.

Providing the finest facial injections and facial plastic surgery is also art.  And, fine art is more beautiful, more delicate, more exquisite, and more expensive.

Similarly, some of the work we do is more technique dependent than others.  It requires far more talent, nuance, and skill to inject the tear troughs or lips than to fill in the temples or chin.  When you ask Dr. Onir to refresh your face with hyaluronic acid filler you are not paying for the filler. You are paying for years of study and experience.  You are paying for a dependably beautiful and safe result. You are paying for mastery.

A facial filler, or treatment with Botox or Xeomin, costs more when a true artist and expert doctor does it than when a nurse injects you.  All paintings are not equal because all artists are not equal.

You know that at The Spiegel Center we deliver the highest quality, most beautiful results available anywhere. There is no comparison.
