A mild local anesthesia may be given beforehand and patients will be able to return to their normal routines within a few days at the most, provided that they stay out of the sun until the skin has healed.

Some patients prefer to opt for a more permanent solution to their frown lines and this can be achieved by means of a forehead lift procedure. If desired, the eyebrows can be repositioned at the same time; however, many patients simply want to remove frown lines when having a forehead lift performed. During the procedure, the muscles around the forehead area will be repositioned so that the frown lines are no longer visible, and the results will last for many years instead of just a few months. Patients should remember though, that they will take a bit longer to recover than if they had opted for dermal fillers or Botox.
