Millions of people suffer sun damage to their skin every day. While some of this damage is noticeable, much of it goes undetected. Only after years of constant exposure and damage do people start to realize that many of their wrinkles, age spots, and other blemishes could have been prevented. Fortunately, there are plenty of easy skin correction methods that can help you reduce or even reverse this damage to your skin.
Use Sunscreen
Sunscreen is primarily intended to help you reduce damage to your skin in the first place, but it can also be helpful to people who have already suffered damage and need to reverse the process. Not all skin damage is permanent. Moisture and protection from more UV rays can give the skin time to heal and make your face look younger. When you wear sunscreen, you are blocking more harmful UV rays that could dry out your skin. That means that you are essentially giving your skin a reprieve from the source that damages it. When you set out to start correcting damage to your skin, make sure to wear sunscreen of at least SPF 15 when you go outside. The results will be outstanding.
Hydrate
Water is one of the greatest tools you have at your disposal to improve your overall skin health. When your skin has become damaged, drinking lots of water can help with skin correction. In general, you should aim to consume six to eight glasses of water per day. When you are dealing with damaged skin, try to boost that amount to eight to ten glasses per day. However, getting the moisture into your body is only the first step. You also need a way to make sure that moisture stays locked into your skin to make sure you maximize your healing ability. A good moisturizer with some Aloe Vera or vitamin E can help make sure that happens, holding the moisture in and boosting the strength of your skin.
Exfoliate
Some minor damage to the skin is contained solely on the outer layer, meaning that as you skin dies and is replaced by newer cells the damage will slowly go away. To help speed this process along, you can exfoliate regularly. A good facial scrub, especially one that uses natural sources such as citrus peels, avocados, or cucumbers, can help remove dead skin cells and rejuvenate the skin underneath. This will reverse damage from aging and from the sun, making you look younger and more vibrant. Even after you have removed the damage, you should consider sticking with whatever exfoliating solution you come up with. This will make it much easier for you to avoid damage again in the future.
If you’re thorough and dedicated to keeping yourself looking as good as possible, skin correction is easy to achieve. Not all damage from the sun can be reversed, but a good portion of it can. By using the solutions outlined above, you will be able to make even burned or cracked skin look much better very quickly.
