We recently interviewed a patient who has received Botox treatments through our practice on numerous occasions and has recently tried the new alternative on the market Dysport. I think it is important to really get the opinion of the end user and how they feel about the new product. Will Dysport stand the test of time and really compete against die-hard Botox users?
How do you feel about Botox?
Botox is great!
One of the benefits of Botox is that it is a preventative way of correcting lines. Botox is also FDA approved to treat migraines and some insurance companies actually cover the Botox treatment for migraines! Some common misconceptions are that Botox is only for older people and that’s not true. Being that Botox is preventative, you can start having Botox treatments early in your 20’s like I do!
How do you feel about Dysport?
I love it! Dysport is a “new” product that will correct the same areas as Botox will. One of the things I love about Dysport is that it lasts longer (4 months) verses Botox which usually lasts only 3 months so you get more for your money!
How does your experience with Dysport differ from Botox?
The difference is hard to explain unless you’ve had both treatments. With Dysport, you actually use less of the product to get the same result. The Dysport needle is smaller so the pain level is quite low, it feels like a small pinch and then it’s over. Personally I’ve notice that Dysport starts working faster; usually I have to wait 4 day and now with Dysport I started seeing my result after 2 days!
Would you use Dysport again?
Yes, definitely!
Do you prefer Dysport over Botox?
Yes!!
Would you recommend Dysport to friends, colleagues or family?
Absolutely!!
